Today we are going to discuss about “ validation rule in Salesforce.” As the name suggested validation rule means some rules or criteria. When filling any form, there are multiple types of field like number, email, currency etc. So, we need to put some validation rule on fields. So, people can’t enter wrong data in fields by mistake or any how. Suppose someone enters the character in the phone field. So, it will wrong data for the receiver. So, we have put some validation rule on fields. You need to open your object from the object manager and select the validation rule. Setup>>Object Manager>>Account(any Object)>>Validation Rule>>New .

Now, you familiar with formula and formula fields in Salesforce. A validation rule is quite same as the formula field. Some operators and advanced formula also available in validation rule. For making an advance validation rule. You just enter the formula and enter the error message in “Error message” field. There is two more option for choosing the place where you want to show errors. Either on top or below of the particular field.
